The Essentials of Real-Time PCR

The Essentials of Real-Time PCR

by Thermo Scientific
Abstract: Real-time PCR or Quantitative PCR (qPCR) has become a standard laboratory method over the last decade. In this webinar, we will cover basic principles, terminology and experimental setup of qPCR. The goal is to establish a foundation for successful qPCR experiment and proper interpretation of data. This will ensure your conclusions accurately reflect the biology under investigation. Topics presented include: qPCR principles and terminology, detection chemistries, amplification plots and Cq values, absolute vs. relative quantification, and assay design considerations.

Ute Kusch studied biotechnology followed by a Ph.D. in Biology at the University of Heidelberg. After several years experience as Technical Application Specialist she is now Technical Marketing Scientist at Thermo Fisher Scientific responsible for training and education around Molecular Biology products and applications.

Alexander Trampe studied biochemistry, followed by a Ph.D in cell biology. He joined Thermo Fisher Scientific 5 years ago as a technical support specialist, gathering experience in PCR and qPCR, as well as other molecular biology applications.
